About Me
For more than 25 years, I represented hundreds of Coloradans in a wide variety of family law matters, from negotiating and preparing premarital agreements to traditional representation and litigation in complex divorce and legal separation matters, custody and relocation disputes, support enforcement actions, post-decree modifications, paternity cases, jurisdictional disputes, and everything in between. I understand the significant emotional and financial challenges that clients face as they navigate the divorce process, and I witnessed first-hand the invaluable role that alternative dispute resolution plays in helping families achieve much-needed closure. As an ADR professional, I thoroughly enjoy working with parties and counsel to find creative solutions to difficult problems, whether through mediation or arbitration.
In addition to my past experience as family law counsel, I am a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and a Past President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I remain active in both organizations locally and nationally, and I sit on the Family Law Section Legislative Committee, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ Amicus Committee, and the Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. For many years, I was the Co-Coordinating Editor of family law articles for The Colorado Lawyer and a contributing editor/author for The Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado Domestic Relations Law and the Colorado Family Law Section Bench/Bar Book for judges and practitioners. I have had the privilege of speaking and lecturing in numerous continuing education presentations to attorneys, judges, and other domestic relations professionals on family law topics such as spousal maintenance, tax matters in divorce, international issues in divorce, business valuation, and much more. In 2024, I was honored to be selected by Colorado SuperLawyers to be featured in their annual SuperLawyers magazine. Read more about my background here: An Objective Eye
